Today we heard about few reasonable dimensions of Ukrainian Bible Society – printing, spreading the Word, popularization and translation. When it comes to the translation of the Scriptures, which is translated from the original, the process of it undergoes high standards of the society, which is complicated and demanding indeed, and besides knowledge it requires a heart too. The Father and Head of the UGCC His Beatitude Sviatoslav said on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Ukrainian Bible Society.

Congratulating everyone on the jubilee, His Beatitude Sviatoslav expressed his joy for the development and activity of the society and recalled few predecessors who were involved in the foundation of the Bible Society. Among them was Myroslav Ivan Lubachivskiy, who shortly after his return from imprisonment, as one of his first deeds, joined Ukrainian Bible Society.

The Major Archbishop also pointed out that for 30 years there has been done a lot and with the beginning of the war the Bible has been dressed in camouflage. It was even printed on paper which is waterproof. Thus, Ukraine possesses the Word, hurt with enemy bullets, which our soldiers bear on their breasts, defending our land from the aggressor.

“The foundation of the Bible Society became a precursor to the restoration of Ukrainian independence, good news for Ukraine and the whole world. May this Word inspire us all and fill us with strength”, wished the Head of the UGCC.
