The Head of the UGCC will make two visits on the territory of Italy

Two-day program of the visit of His Beatitude Sviatoslav to the city of Tortona includes participation in the celebrations of the holiday of St Luigi, visiting the sanctuary  Madonna della Guardia, where there are the saint's relics, and meeting with the local hierarchy. The main event of celebrating the 15th jubilee of work of Fathers Orionists in Ukraine will be the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy, which will be led by the Head of the UGCC together with the local hierarchs and the Most Reverend Bishop Dionisij, Apostolic Visitator. The Mass will take place in the sanctuary Madonna della Guardia in Tortona. To participate in the liturgy are also invited local Ukrainian migrants and those from other UGCC communities in the north of Italy.

On May 17, the Head of the UGCC will begin his visit to the archeparchy of Perugia. In the program there is a visit to the sanctuary of St Francis of Assisi, visit to the city of Urbania to the tomb of God's slave Maria Teresa Carloni, closely connected with the Patriarch Josyph Slipyj, meeting with the members of charity “La Gomena”. Besides, His Beatitude Sviatoslav will preside over the inauguration of the philosophical conference at the University of Perugia. The hierarch will also meet with the bishops of Umbria and local authorities.

On May 18 at 14:30, in the Cathedral of St Lorenzo of the archeparchy of Perugia, His Beatitude Sviatoslav  will lead a litany for Ukraine and will say a homily to the Ukrainian migrants in Umbria.

On May 19 at 18:00 in the cathedral there will be held a Mass which will be led by Cardinal Gualtiero Bassetti together with the Head of the UGCC.

We would like to add that this visit of the Head of the UGCC to the archeparchy of Perugia is the first one, in the frames of this visit he will also have a chance to meet with the Ukrainian migrants of Umbria.
