The President of Ukraine visited Arch-Cathedral of the Metropolitanate of Przemysl and Warsaw

During his State visit to the Republic of Poland, President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko visited the cathedral of the Greek-Catholic Przemysl and Warsaw Metropolitanate (in Przemysl). Speaking with the faithful, the President emphasized that today, between Ukraine and Poland, there exists a very strong relationship between the two nations. The national press service of the President reported on his visit.
During his State visit to the Republic of Poland, President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko visited the cathedral of the Greek-Catholic Przemysl and Warsaw Metropolitanate (in Przemysl). Speaking with the faithful, the President emphasized that today, between Ukraine and Poland, there exists a very strong relationship between the two nations. The national press service of the President reported on his visit. In this context, President Yuschenko explained the importance of historical reconciliation to benefit the relationship between the Ukrainian and Polish nations. “As the President of Ukraine, I am very proud that we have come so far, especially in the last few years, to become such good friends,” Yuschenko said. He further commented that, for the final historical reconciliation, mutual forgiveness is a necessary pre-condition for further development and integration into Europe. According to Yuschenko, the “unique” Ukrainian-Polish relations form an undoubtedly important new element of European politics.
