The primary purpose for visiting the eparchies is the distribution of information about the NPF "Pokrova” (Protection)

Such was the emphasis of Fr. Vasyl’ Kopychyn, head of the supervisory council of Non-government Pension Fund (NPF) "Pokrova" (Protection), commenting for the Information Department of the UGCC about the series of his visits which are taking place these days in the UGCC’s eparchies of western Ukraine. Mr. Volodymyr Ul'yanov, head of the supervisory council of the All-Ukrainian Administrator of Pension Funds, is helping Fr. Kopychyn inform the faithful of the Church about the creation and purpose of the NPF "Pokrova." (The NPF "Pokrova" has signed a legal agreement about administration with this company.) In his commentary, the head of the supervisory council of the NPF "Pokrova" named two more tasks which they are trying to perform during the visits: 1) to study possibilities for the creation of consultative informative points; 2) selection of candidates to work as consultants in these points. For the achievement of these purposes, in every city to which the representatives of the NPF "Pokrova" travel, the conducting of press-conferences, distribution of printed materials, meetings with the eparchial bishop and other responsible clergy of the eparchy, if possible, are foreseen. The first point to which Fr. Kopychyn and Mr. Ul'yanov traveled was the city of Ternopil, on October 16. Consequently on October 17 they visited Ivano-Frankivs’k, on October 18 Truskavets’, and on October 20 Stryj. Today the representatives of the NPF "Pokrova" are in Zhovkva, tomorrow they will arrive in Lviv, on October 23 they go to Chortkiv and on October 24 to Kolomyja. According to the head of the supervisory council, this is the first series of visits. In the near future the representatives of the Fund will visit other cities of eparchies and exarchates of the UGCC. Information The statutes of the Open Non-government Pension Fund "POKROVA," according to the decision of the founder, were ratified on November 10, 2007. On July 28, 2008, the NPF "Pokrova" was registered by the State Commission on Adjusting Markets of the Financial Services of Ukraine as a financial institution. From September 1, after the signing of necessary agreements with the administrator of pension funds and the company for the management of assets and bank-keeper, the NPF "Pokrova" began its official activities. The first task of the foundation is to provide a worthy pension for the clergy and faithful of the UGCC.
