The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, on his own behalf and on behalf of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, congratulated His Beatitude Sviatoslav, Father and Head of the UGCC, on his birthday. On May 5, His Beatitude turned 51 years old.

Denys Shmyhal arrived in person at the residence of the Head of the UGCC in Kyiv to greet the Primate of the UGCC.

“Another year of earthly life, given to you by the Lord, has passed. It was complex and incredibly dynamic, full of earthly joys and high spiritual love for your neighbor. Unfortunately, all the achievements of the past year were overshadowed by a heavy loss of the very dearest person – your mother. However, you, Your Beatitude, have given a worthy and extremely noble answer to all the challenges of life, both as a Christian and as a good pastor,” reads the greeting letter addressed to His Beatitude Sviatoslav.

The Head of the Ukrainian Government noted that the Father and the Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church set an example to all by calling for vaccination, constant care for the sick and infirm, active work to help doctors, and a principled position on spiritual care for people in prison. His Beatitude shows that sacrifice and the desire to help others are the quintessence and basis of self-realization in the vortex of earthly life.

On the occasion of his 51st birthday, Denys Shmyhal wished His Beatitude Sviatoslav the most generous grace of the Lord, good health, inspiration and strength for new achievements in his noble and blessed mission.

"May the Lord generously endow you with all His virtues, strengthening and inspiring you, filling with new achievements for the benefit of our Mother Church and the entire Ukrainian nation!" - the Prime Minister of Ukraine wished.
