On the 27th of October, in the Department of the Patriarcal Curia of the UGCC, that is situated on the territory of the St. George’s Complex in Lviv, the final training session within the program "Mentoring for orphans and children, who are deprived of parental care" took place. This event, after which all the attendees received their certificates, was held on the initiative of the Commission of the UGCC on Matters of the Family.

During that day, the attendees of the course were also discussing the future steps of the mentoring. "The information which the participants of the course received, as well as, the discussions during the orientational sessions were extremely important to them. After that, a number of those attendees of the course were left in a state of reflection, considering the future plans regarding such issues as what child will benefit the most. Moreover, they are thinking over their knowledge and qualities, so as to better serve the orphan child”, - commented on this event Maria Sakvuk, who is the coordinator of the program on matters of Orphanages and Foster Care.

It should also be noted that this was the first time that this training course took place in the UGCC within the program “Mentoring for orphans and children, who are deprived of parental care”. The representatives of the Commission of the UGCC on Matters of the Family reported that the next training course of this kind will start at the beginning of December. In their opinion, such trainings are a good opportunity to better understand the specificity of the life of orphan-children and also to analyze their own ability to help children.
