No matter how hard it is for us, no matter how much we want to give up, it will still be Easter. And this will be a great day for all of us, which will inspire us, make us a little different, show us our own lives, our history from a slightly different angle - in the light of the risen Savior. This assurance was expressed by the Head of the UGCC in the program "Live broadcast with His Beatitude Sviatoslav" on "Zhyve Television." His guest was Yevhen Nyschuk, a Ukrainian actor of theater and cinema.

The Paschal Sacrament that we will now experience, His Beatitude Sviatoslav explained, includes three main points: suffering, death, and resurrection.

"Suffering and death are, unfortunately, part of our human experience. At this time, many people are sick with fear, because no one knows how the disease [Covid-19 - Ed.] will begin to act in his body. We see death from this disease. In addition, we hear almost every day that our soldiers are dying on the front line," he said.

But the resurrection, in his opinion, although beyond our experience, reveals the meaning of suffering, death and human life in this world. That is why the apostle Paul says, "If Christ has not been raised, our faith is in vain."

"Together with God's people, I enter this Holy Week full of various pains, sufferings, experiences, worries, but this week is a road to joy," His Beatitude assured, adding: "We see that death has no last word in human life. Life always wins."

Yevhen Nyschuk also said that he enters this Easter time with hope: "At this Easter time it is really worth pausing and thinking about hope, because the Church, the world, and artists have been very sensitive to these restrictions and these worries," he said.

Due to the lockdown, the theater staff is not able to reach the audience directly. The world of theater is also adapting to new circumstances, given that there is no live communication.

"We, like the Church, are also adapting. We have lost a lot of people during this time. The circle narrows, and death affects our loved ones. It is necessary to have the power of hope in all this," the actor summed up.
