There are plans to build a Ukrainian Greek-Catholic cathedral in Lutsk. At present the search is proceeding for an appropriate piece of land. His Beatitude Sviatoslav (Shevchuk), UGCC Head, stated this during a press conference on March 26th in Lutsk.

There are plans to build a Ukrainian Greek-Catholic cathedral in Lutsk.  At present the search is proceeding for an appropriate piece of land. His Beatitude Sviatoslav (Shevchuk), UGCC Head, stated this during a press conference on March 26th in Lutsk.

UGCC Primate related that during the week he plans to visit local communities in order to become familiar with issues to assist in the development of churches, make recommendations, offer advice, “possibly to learn what other structures we need to create to fulfill the needs of the communities in place.”

According to him, this visit to Volyn also has the goal of solving some concrete pastoral issues. “We are waiting for a land parcel on which to build a cathedral of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church in Lutsk,” stated UGCC Primate.
