We honor every human life because we believe in God, who is the Source of life, the Head of the UGCC said in a video catechesis

We Christians believe in God the Father, who holds everything in his hands, enabling everything to exist. This belief in God, the Source of life, is the reason why we Christians today respect every human life. This opinion was expressed by His Beatitude Sviatoslav, Father and Head of the UGCC, in Saturday's video catechesis on faith.

The topic of the new program, which was broadcast this Saturday, January 9, at 9 pm by Zhyve TV, was the explanation of the content of the first article of the Creed: I believe in one God, the Father almightymaker of heaven and earth and of all things visible and invisible.

The Head of the UGCC noted that with the first words of the "Symbol of Faith" we first of all acknowledge our faith in God the Father, that is, God, who is our Father. "This is something special that distinguishes Christians from adherents of all other religions," he said.

The Primate then remarked that our God, unlike the other idols we read about in the Bible, is alive. And when He revealed Himself to the prophet Moses in the form of a burning bush, He even said His name, "I am who I am."

God the Father is also the Almighty, that is, the one who holds everything in His hands. “Everything else derives its life and existence from Him,” explained the Head of the UGCC, adding that this faith in God, who is the Source of life, is the reason why Christians today respect every human life so much.

In the Creed, Christians also acknowledge that God the creates everything visible and invisible through the Son and the Holy Spirit.

"He is the Source of my life. I can breathe, exist precisely because God the Father loves me and gives me that life and breath. Waking up every morning and seeing that the Lord God is giving me a new day, I turn my thoughts into a prayer of gratitude to my loving God the Father, who is near, who is with me, who is for me," His Beatitude Sviatoslav emphasized.

At the end of the catechesis, the Head of the UGCC read to the audience an excerpt from the Confession of Faith of Kyiv Metropolitan Hilarion (11th century), which may be for us the voice of cheerful faith of the early Kyivan Church.

We remind you that the video project of Zhyve Television "His Beatitude Sviatoslav: #clearly_about_complicated" started on May 16, 2020 .
