We must fill post-COVID world with grace of Holy Spirit, - Head of the UGCC on feast of Saint Basil the Great

We are witnessing the emergence of a new culture. A new epoch of human life is opening up. Some call it the post-COVID world. What is the task of Christians in this new world? Saint Basil the Great clearly tells us today: we must fill this world with the grace of the Holy Spirit. His Beatitude Sviatoslav, the Father and Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, emphasized during a homily to the faithful in the Church of St. Basil the Great in Kyiv.

The preacher noted that on this day we celebrate several holidays. First of all the beginning of the New Year according to the Julian calendar, the beginning, which is marked by the feast of Circumcision and Naming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

And we also thank the Lord for twenty years of existence, actions, prayers, grace of the Holy Spirit, experienced by our people, particularly our Kyiv community, in this holy church of St. Basil the Great. Recalling the history of the temple, the Head stressed the importance of remembering the significant contribution of benefactors and the Basilian fathers in the construction of the temple and the largest catechetical school in Kyiv archeparchy.

“We must realize our mission to lead a truly Christian life. All what we think, all our life decisions must flow from the seal of Baptism, - the spiritual leader emphasized. “We must every brand new day of our lives with Christian content. We must begin a day with God, live it and end it with Him”.

According to the Head of the UGCC, we, Christians, must bring Christian values ​​into the new culture in the way of our personal life, through building human relations, through building our families, and thus a just society.
