On July 2, 2009, a group of youth from the Australian city Geelong, lead by Fr. Ihor Holovko, pastor of the church Veil of the Holiest Mother (Geelong, Australia), arrived in Lviv.
The visit was made possible through a school program. “Students from senior classes voluntarily signed up to travel such a long distance. In fact, the parish is located 60 km away from Melbourne, making it the furthest away from the capital of Ukraine,” explained Fr. Ihor. Their trip included a visit to the Archcathedral of Saint George where the Australian youth were able to meet with Bishop Ihor (Voznyak), the Archbishop of Lviv UGCC. He welcomed the youth and wished God’s blessing upon them while they visited Ukraine. He also thanked them for coming such a long distance to get in touch with their roots.
