The Head of the UGCC and the Special Representative of the US State Department on Ukraine met in Rome

On October 13, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, the Father and the Head of the UGCC, met in Rome with Kurt Walker, Special Representative of the US State Department on Ukraine. The meeting was held at the initiative of Kurt Walker as part of his visit to the Vatican.

In a conversation with the representative of the US Department of State, the UGCC Primate expressed his hopes for the Ukrainian people to end the war in Ukraine and support of the international partners in the Ukrainian state's desire to protect themselves from Russian aggression.

His Beatitude Sviatoslav told Kurt Walker about the participation of the UGCC in helping the victims of the war and the status of the parishes of the UGCC in the occupied territories. "Our presence in the Donbas with our faithful is a pastoral duty of the UGCC," said His Beatitude Sviatoslav.

At the end of the conversation, the Head of the UGCC wished the interlocutor a blessing in his mission to put an end to the war in Ukraine and its development as a free European country.
