A Council in the Eparchy of Buchach will be conducted under the theme «Evangelization in the conditions of our days»

On March 30-31, 2009, a Council [Sobor] of the Eparchy of Buchach on the theme of evangelization will take place. It will be conducted in the town of Chortkiv on the premises of the eparchial administration. For the preparation of the Council, Apostolic Administrator Fr. Dmytro Hryhorak created a preparatory committee, which is headed by Mitred Fr. Ivan Sen'kiv, synkellos [chancellor] for pastoral matters in the Eparchy of Buchach. The eparchial Council on Evangelization in the Buchach Eparchy will be held under the slogan «Go and teach…» This is taken from the Gospel of Matthew, so that evangelization in the conditions of our days becomes a primary objective, thus fulfilling the will of Jesus Christ, for every priest and lay person. Fr. Oleh Ol'khovetskyj has been appointed secretary of the eparchial Council of Buchach. He is the chancellor of the eparchy. Members of the preparatory commission are Fr. Hryhoriy Kanak, head of the Eparchial Commission in Matters of Evangelization, Fr. Volodymyr Zabolotniy, synkellos in matters of laity, and Fr. Dmytro Nenchyn, vice-chancellor of the eparchy.
