On June 1, International Children’s Day, Bishop Stephan (Meniok), UGCC Donetsk-Karkiv Exarch, and Rev. Vasyl Panteliuk, chaplain of Penitentiary  Services, visited a prison for minors in Donetsk in order to greet them with the holiday.

Bishop Stephan turned to the minors with a pastoral word, urging them to always be with God. The Bishop also met with the Director of the Penitentiary Services of Donetsk Region Yuriy Pryhodko, in order to discuss some issues of cooperation between the Church and the Department involving issues which occur in the process of educating youth.  At the end of the visit, the bishop gave gifts to the youth: strawberries and sweets, and blessed them.  Rev. Vasyl believes that the reason why the minors are in a prison is due to sin, namely an opposition to God.
