"Conducting in Ukraine the action ‘My "brick’ on the building of the Patriarchal Cathedral’ from autumn 2007 to summer 2008, we achieved very good results, and this is not only measuring money, but, foremost, in the matter of awakening in the consciousness of our faithful general responsibility and involvement in the construction of the main church of our whole Church. For us this was the main thing." So Bishop Bohdan (Dzyurakh), head of the Supervisory Council for the Construction of the Patriarchal Center of the UGCC, commented on the decision to proceed in distributing more "bricks." Another reason to revive the campaign, according to Bishop Bohdan, is the frequent appeals of people who were not able to take part in it before, or would like to purchase another "brick" for themselves or for their neighbors. "In an understanding with our bishops, we decided to continue this action and we hope that the economic crisis will not entail a crisis in donations from our people," said Bishop Bohdan. On the web page of the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ in Kyiv (www.kyivsobor.ugcc.org.ua) the process of entering information about all donors who purchased "bricks" as part of the action "My ‘brick’ on the building of the Patriarchal Cathedral" continues. All who took part in this action, clicking on the specially created section "Bricks," can find themselves by searching series and number, or first and last name, or locality, which were marked on the basic and on the perforated part of the "bricks." In addition, visiting the web site of the Patriarchal Cathedral, it is possible to see the amount of "bricks" entered into the database and the sum which was collected for them (according to today’s status, there is information about 56 028 "bricks" for which 3 777 090 hryvnias were collected.)
