Christmas in the Patriarchal Cathedral is accompanied by a special icon

The Patriarchal Cathedral in Kyiv received a gift – a Christmas icon – from the faithful of the Saskatoon eparchy (Saskatchewan Province). It was painted by Anna Mysyk.

This icon was installed on a tetrapod on Christmas Eve (the tetrapod is a low rectangular table, standing in the center of the temple in front of the iconostasis), and it became the main attribute of Christmas in the Patriarchal Cathedral.

"This icon, presented to us by our faithful from Canada, has become a visible sign of the globality and unity of our Church. We are grateful to our faithful for such an initiative and for wanting to be together,” said His Beatitude Sviatoslav.
