The online meeting of the Head of the UGCC with the clergy of the Apostolic Exarchate in Germany and Scandinavia, which took place on April 20, 2021, was attended by the new Exarch Bishop Bohdan Dziurakh and Bishop Emeritus Petro Kryk.

Introducing the new exarch to the clergy, His Beatitude Sviatoslav noted that he gave to the clergy and the faithful of the exarchate his closest adviser, with whom he had cooperated during ten years of his ministry. "Thus, we want to take care of our Church in Germany," the Head of the UGCC explained.

According to him, in Germany and Scandinavia there is a huge number of our faithful who have not yet integrated into our structures. "We must be able to find them and accept them into our communities," His Beatitude Sviatoslav observed.

"Although we went online, but we should be careful not to lose our faithful. We also need to build a new culture of communication with each other. I beg you very much: create a priestly community led by the bishop, build a community of our parishes, because the Church is a community!” Patriarch Sviatoslav called on the priests of the exarchate.

Bishop Petro Kryk then shared his own memories of the period of ministry and expressed his views on the further development of the UGCC presence in Germany and Scandinavia. He sincerely thanked the priests for their cooperation, noting that much has been achieved in the exarchate thanks to their initiative and zeal.

The new exarch, Bishop Bohdan Dziurakh expressed special gratitude personally and on behalf of all gathered to His Beatitude Sviatoslav, emphasizing that his arrival for the enthronement and the current meeting with the priests testify to his personal concern over the development of the exarchate. “These days we have more than once heard His Beatitude's assurances of his support for us; for our part, we must respond to the Father and the Head of our Church with our even greater zeal in the service of the Mother Church and our people,” Bishop Bohdan emphasized.

Finally, His Beatitude Sviatoslav greeted everyone with the feast of the Resurrection of Christ and wished the bishops, pastors, consecrated persons, and all the faithful of the exarchate a generous blessing of God.

It will be recalled that on April 18, 2021, the enthronement of the third apostolic exarch for Ukrainians in Germany and the Scandinavian countries, Bishop Bohdan Dziurakh, took place in Munich.
