Greek Catholics from Vyshneve provided a charitable support for dwellers of a hostel with coronavirus outbreak

April 25, 2020 a community of St. Anna Church in Vyshneve granted a charitable support for dwellers of a hostel with coronavirus outbreak. Currently, over 100 lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported from there.

Nearly 300 people living in the hostel, located in a suburb of a city, all of whom were in complete isolation and left out of any opportunity to go outside and buy necessary things. Police guard the premise day and night. Local authorities and volunteers supply medication, food and hygiene means to the dwellers.

Parish community packed 40 product sets for children, which include fruits with vitamin C to support immune system. Apart from that, there was a great need in antiseptics, 25 liters of what was delivered there soon.

A volunteer reported in a short interview that the situation in the hostel is complicated but people hold on being positive.

This help is granted from a collection of “Andrew’s Pence” Fund under the patronage of His Beatitude Sviatoslav and with support of “Caritas-Kyiv” represent by Fr. Roman Syrotych.

Commenting on a mission of “Andrew’s Pence” Head of the UGCC mentioned: ‘Donating money to this fund you help not personally Head of the Church, you give it into the hands of medical aid for those who desperately need it”.
