Head of the UGCC met with Ambassador of Ukraine to Hungary in Budapest

On September 10, 2021 the Father and Head of the UGCC His Beatitude Sviatoslav met in Budapest with Ms. Liubov Nepop, Ambassador of Ukraine to Hungary.

During the meeting the sides discussed up-to-date status of Ukrainian community in Hungary and challenges which Ukrainians face in there.

His Beatitude Sviatoslav emphasized the importance of cherishing unity among Ukrainians in Hungary. “The Church, the embassy and community have to develop partnership between themselves being united with common goal to help Ukrainians in Hungary”, said the Major Archbishop and asked the embassy officials to support newcomers form Ukraine, who, unofficially consist of over 100 000.

After the meeting His Beatitude Sviatoslav together with the ambassador of Ukraine to Hungary and clergy present there put flowers on Taras Shevchenko monument in Budapest.
