Head of the UGCC met with monasticism of UGCC

On December 15, 2021, in Ivano-Frankivsk, on the initiative of the Patriarchal Commission for Monastic Affairs of the UGCC, the supreme abbots of monasteries and congregations gathered for a joint two-day formation.

The Head and Father of the UGCC encouraged the higher abbots to change the horizons of communication in communities and generally in the Church: to move from vertical hierarchical relations to creating a horizontal communication. Today, according to the hierarch, creating network societies is a challenge for us, yet - also necessary.

Afterwards, the higher abbots shared with His Beatitude Sviatoslav their experience of getting through the lockdown in their own communities, as well as the experience of cooperation with the laypeople and the Church at this time.

Apart from that, on the first day of the meeting, the presentation of the document "Hope which the Lord calls us to" took place with showing the possibility of its application in monastic communities.
