His Beatitude Lubomyr (Husar), UGCC Archbishop-Emeritus, in an interview with the Polish Catholic Information Agency (KAI) stated that Ukrainians and Poles should decide whether they want forgiveness, or whether they will limit themselves to mutual blaming? If we adapt the second alternative with all of its variants, then, contends the former UGCC Head, “we will find many ugly things on both sides.”

His Beatitude Lubomyr (Husar), UGCC Archbishop-Emeritus, in the interview with the Polish Catholic Information Agency (KAI) stated that Ukrainians and Poles should decide whether they want  forgiveness, or whether they will limit themselves to mutual blaming?  If we adapt the second alternative with all of its variants, then, contends the former UGCC Head, “we will find many ugly things on both sides.”

“The only path is forgiveness and one that is not only one-sided,” states the spiritual leader of Ukrainians.

According to the Archbishop, it is good that there was disagreement around the 70th anniversary of the Volyn events.  “Today’s situation prompts both Ukrainians and Poles to ask themselves the question: what next?  should we go on fighting each other? Throughout history, we have done enough stupid things.  Is this the way we want to go on living? I think it makes no sense,” stated His Beatitude Lubomyr.
