His Beatitude Sviatoslav about Metropolitan Andrey: Today we thank God for sending us in his person a tireless sower of God's Word

Today we ask the righteous Metropolitan Andrey, who is standing in glory before the throne of God, to pray that our people and the Church may not lack followers of Christ, that we may generously sow the Word of God among our people, that the Word of God may sprout and bring fruit a hundredfold. This was said by His Beatitude Sviatoslav, Father and Head of the UGCC, during a sermon on Sunday, November 1, 2020.

"Today we commemorate the day of the departure into eternity of our great Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky. We thank God for sending us in his person the tireless sower of God's Word," said the Primate of the UGCC.

According to the preacher, Metropolitan Andrey sowed generously with selected grain, without asking what land it would fall on. His seed and power was the Word of God. It ripened even when there was a fierce storm.

"Through his life, his work, his word, he made our Church capable of enduring persecution. Thanks to Metropolitan Andrey, our Church has managed to survive the most difficult years of her history, survive abolition and other difficult moments, but still bear fruit a hundredfold," said the Father and Head of the UGCC.

"We ask the righteous Metropolitan Andrey to be those who, when hearing God's Word, accept it with a good and sincere heart, keep it, and then bear fruit with patience," the Patriarch concluded.
