The Father and Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church His Beatitude Sviatoslav thanked the faithful around the world for their daily prayers for the Synod of Bishops of the UGCC, which took place July 7-15, 2022 in Przemyśl, Poland.

During the pilgrimage to the miraculous icon of Zarvanytsia, the Primate said that two weeks ago in the Patriarchal Cathedral, he appealed to our entire Church in Ukraine and in the diaspora to pray for the Synod of Bishops in Przemyśl, for God's blessing on their work, and asked the faithful to pray a “Heavenly King” every day.

“And today, here in Zarvanytsia, I want to thank our entire Church for praying, and accompanying us in prayer, during these days. And I will tell you that we bishops felt the support of the entire Church,” stated the Primate.

The spiritual leader noted that the Synod is not only a matter for bishops. “The Synod is an event of our entire Church. Each bishop speaks on behalf of his eparchy, God's people, priests, monks and nuns entrusted to his pastoral care and whom he represents. Today we want to thank the Lord and all the faithful for that blessed time.”
