In Brazil His Beatitude Sviatoslav performed the rite of enthronement of the new governing bishop of the UGCC

On Sunday, July 13, 2014, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, the Head of the UGCC in Prudentopolis (Brazil), performed the rite of enthronement ofc on Eparch of Diocese of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin. The event took place at the present Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.

After the enthronement began the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy, which was served by the Head of the UGCC with Bishop Volodymyr (Kovbych), Archbishop and Metropolitan of the archdiocese of St.John the Baptist, Bishop Danyil (Kozlynskyi), Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Intercession of St. Mary in Argentina, Roman Catholic bishops from Brazil and the numerous priesthood of the newly created diocese.

In his homily, His Eminence said that the new structural unit of the UGCC was created because of the new challenges of the UGCC in Brazil. He called to pray for the success of the Diocese of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary: "Pray for the life intensifying of the UGCC with the creation of the new diocese and good fruit in the future".

On July 15 such a celebration will be held in another Brazilian city - Curitiba. This day will be the enthronement of Bishop Volodymyr (Kovbych) on Archbishop and Metropolitan of the archdiocese of St. John the Baptist.

As we reported, His Beatitude Sviatoslav arrived in Brazil on July 10. The main purpose of the visit of the UGCC Head is an introduction to the new government Archbishops Volodymyr (Kovbych) and Myron (Mazur).
