In the UGCC, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary since birth and of the 55th anniversary of priesthood of His Beatitude Lubomyr, the commemorative medal was released

With the blessing of His Beatitude Sviatoslav, the Head of the UGCC, on the occasion of the 80^th birthday and of the 55^th anniversary of priesthood of His Beatitude Lubomyr (Huzar), the Archbishop Emeritus of the UGCC, the commemorative medal was released. On one side of the medal, which was made of silver in a small circulation, His Beatitude Lubomyr  is illustrated in sacerdotal vestments, and the inscription is made: "His Beatitude Lubomyr Cardinal Huzar. 80 years since birthday". On the other side – the two temples: the UGCC Patriarchal Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ in Kiev and the Greek Catholic Cathedral of Saint Sophia in Rome, with the inscription: "The UGCC Patriarchal Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ. The Greek Catholic Cathedral of Saint Sophia. Kyiv, Rome”, and next to the cathedrals there is another inscription - "55 years of priesthood".

It should also be added that on the 26^th of February 2013, during the celebration of anniversaries in the Metropolitan's Chambers, which are located on the territory of the complex of St. George’s Cathedral in Lviv, His Beatitude Lubomyr was giving such medals as a token of gratitude to everyone who came to greet him.

While commenting on this occasion, His Beatitude Sviatoslav said that the two sides of this medal are symbolizing the two components of the life of His Beatitude Lubomyr: the human and the pastoral ones. "This medal reflects the life and the ministry of our hero of the anniversary for the UGCC and for the Ukrainian people", - explained the Head of the Church.
