On Sunday of the Holy Cross the Stations of the Cross went on in Lviv

Specifically Sunday of the Holy Cross annually unites believers of our Church in a fervent prayer. This year the Stations of the Cross was dedicated to the Year of a family, declared by All-Ukrainian Council of Churches, as well as commemoration of the holy blessed martyr Klymentiy Sheptytsky on occasion of his 150^th birthday anniversary.

The text to the Stations was compiled at Lviv Holy Spirit Seminary, combining reflections over passions of the Christ with vocation of a Christian family and a gift of life of Christ’s belief companions. Text of the Stations of the Cross by Gianfranco Ravasi as well as reflections of what a righteous family is truly is, particularly, complemented with the letters of metropolitan Andrey.

The procession started at Saint Michael Cathedral. It was led by Archbishop and Metropolitan of Lviv Ihor Vozniak and Bishop-Auxiliary of Lviv Archeparchy Volodymyr Hrutsa, Numerous priests and believers of Lviv archeparchy were following them. Seminarians from Lviv Holy Spirit Seminary accompanied the procession with singing. To mark the Year of a family the small processional cross was bore by families. Among them – a family of Fr. Taras Myrka, a prison’s chaplain. This Stations of the Cross became, in a special way, a prayer for peace in Ukraine and families, blessings and wisdom of Ukrainian nation.

This joint prayer gathered nearly sixty thousands of believers.
