The festival «Lift up your hearts 2009»

On May 6, 2009, it is planned to conduct the festival of the Christian city «Lift up your hearts 2009» in Ivano-Frankivs’k. The festival of a Christian city for people who live in it: where they are born, study, work, and relax. Ivano-Frankivs’k is a city in which most inhabitants are Christian, and everybody expresses his/her belonging to the Christian city in his/her own way. The primary purpose of the festival «Lift up your hearts» is to allow one to experience spiritual uplift through music, interaction, and general creativity. The open horizon of the festival will accept each one, whether child or adult. Children's and family competitions in drawing and singing and a youth concert with the motto «Let’s sincerely play for God» will create a space of gladness. Reading God’s word, contemplating icons, prayer, and confession will compose the space of the sacraments. The space of questions and answers will be spiritual conversations of young people and priests. Instrumental in the creation of the atmosphere will be the photo-exhibit «Frankivs’k is a Christian city.»  In order to conduct the festival "Lift up your hearts," the organizing committee has begun to form a community of like-minded persons who aim to see Ivano-Frankivs’k as Christ’s city and want to make their contribution in the large flame of a joint action for the glory of God. At the initiative of the community of Renewal in the Holy Spirit Like Mary of the UGCC, thanks to the support of the Youth Commission of the Ivano-Frankivs’k Eparchy of the UGCC and the artistic agency ArtPole the School of Angels has appeared, the first meeting of which took place on November 29, 2008 ,in Ivano-Frankivs’k.
