His Beatitude Sviatoslav, the Father and Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, introduced Bishop Bohdan Dziurakh to the throne of the Exarchate for Ukrainians in Germany and the Scandinavian countries.

The historic event took place on April 18, 2021, in the Cathedral of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Holy Apostle Andrew the First-Called in Munich.

The event was attended by representatives of church and state authorities.

During the sermon, His Beatitude Sviatoslav remembered with gratitude all our bishops, priests, monks and nuns who built this exarchate. The Head of the Church especially thanked Bishop Petro Kryk for more than 20 years of ministry.

"Today we are going through a special historical moment. Today we have introduced our Most Reverend Bishop Bohdan Dziurakh to the throne of the Exarch in Germany," the Primate said.

According to him, the bishop had served in various types of ministry - next to His Beatitude Lubomyr, and then for ten years as administrator of the Patriarchal Curia, as Secretary of our Synod.

“The words of Christ ‘the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve’ that we hear in today's Gospel, are the life credo of Bishop Bohdan. He never sought privileges or honors. And today he comes as your bishop, as your father; he comes to give his life to you and for you,” the Head of the Church emphasized.

"May the slogan of the next session of the Patriarchal Council ‘Christ's Church is always and everywhere with you’ be a new light that will write a new page in the history of this exarchate," the Head of the UGCC wished in conclusion.
