The Father and Head of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church His Beatitude Sviatoslav thanked Pauline fathers on Jasna Gora Monastery (Our Lady of Częnstochowa Shrine at Jasna Gora Monastery) for praying about peace in Ukraine that they had started from the first Sunday of a Lent 2015.

“I am expressing a deep gratitude for this willful act of a spiritual support and solidarity with Ukrainian society who has suffered so much during the last year from Russian armed forces against Ukrainians who protect their values and moral principles of the social and political life”.

Despite this, the Head of the UGCC received an invitation from Pauline fathers to join in a common prayer for peace in Ukraine. “I would like to take advantage of this opportunity in the nearest future to visit a miraculous icon of the Virgin Mary on Jasna Góra that during the centuries has been protecting our nations from disasters, joining in a common prayer of God’s mercy over Ukraine in extremely hard and dramatic historic moment which our Motherland is going through now”, - is said in the letter of the Head of the UGCC to the reverend fathers of Jasna Góra.
