On October 6, 2018, the Father and the Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church will take part in the 15th Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops on "Youth, Faith and Recognition of the Call." Bishop Brian (Baida) will also take part in the Assembly, whom the Synod of Bishops of the UGCC elected as a delegate from the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.

"In a couple of days I will be going to Rome to take part in the Papal Synod, for which the Holy Father convenes Bishops from all over the world. We will look for ways in which we can best testify the faith today and pass it on to young people. Let us contemplate how today we are not ashamed of our Savior," said the Primate of the Church during the 23rd International Pilgrimage of Rosary in Pogonia, Precarpathia, on September 30.

In the sermon during the Liturgy, the Head of the Church asked to pray for Pope Francis. "In these days, I had the opportunity to pray with him, and he urged the whole Church to pray the rosary in October. We know how today the devil personally attacks the Holy Father from all around. He needs our prayer, our help, solidarity and unity. And who should do this first, if not us, the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, which still carries the wounds of martyrdom for its fidelity to the successor of the apostle Peter," said the Head of the UGCC.
