The Patriarchal Pilgrimage Center of the UGCC in Kyiv was hosted by the Austrian Pilgrims

At the request of Fr. Sviatoslav Kyyak, who is the professor of the Ivano-Frankivsk Theological Academy of the UGCC, the Patriarchal Pilgrimage Center of the UGCC received a visit from a group of pilgrims from Austria. The foreign pilgrims are traveling to Karaganda for the dedication of the new Cathedral of the Roman Catholic Church, which will be held on September the 9th this year.

The first place of pilgrimage for the Austrian guests was the St. Nicholas Church at Askold’s Grave, situated in the capital, where they participated in the Divine Liturgy. After the divine service, they visited such landmarks of Kyiv as: St. Volodymyr's Cathedral, the Opera House, the Golden Gate of Kyiv, a monument to Yaroslav the Wise, St. Sophia Cathedral (which is included as a World Heritage Site on the UNESCO list), the monument to Bohdan Khmelnytsky, St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Monastery, a monument to Princess Olga, Khreschatyk Street, the Independence Square, the European Square, the Park of Glory, the Memorial in Commemoration of the Famines’ Victims,

The Holy Dormition Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, the monumental statue of the Mother of the Fatherland, the Paton Bridge, the Monument of the Legendary Founders of Kyiv, the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ.

The group was left with the unforgettable impressions from what was seen as well as with the strong desire to visit Ukraine again.
