On the 29th of October, in Truskavets, the final round of the second stage of the seminar for priests of Sambir-Drohobych Diocese took place, during which the trends in the Strategy development of the UGCC until the year 2020, named “The Vibrant Parish – a place to encounter the living Christ”, were discussed. This time, during October, priests were considering the two directions of the synodal strategy - "Liturgy and Prayer" and "Service to others".

According to Bishop Yaroslav (Pryriz), who is the Bishop in Sambir-Drohobych Diocese, "educational workshops are designed so as to help every priest to deeply understand his calling and the content of his ministry."

The four rounds of the workshop were attended by approximately 260 priests of the diocese. The meetings always started with the common prayer. Then, Fr. Hryhoriy Komar, who is the protosyncellus of the diocese, introduced the two speakers of the seminar to the priests. The lecture on the liturgical direction of the synodal program was given to the participants by Fr. Dr. Vasyl Rudeyko, who is the lecturer in the Ukrainian Catholic University. The lecture on the aspect of service to others was provided by Fr. Ihor Kozankevych, who is the Director of the “Caritas SDD”.

The peculiar feature of those workshops was that after those lectures, priests (within their groups) were sharing their experience of providing pastoral care and also were expressing their suggestions regarding the opportunities of implementing the strategy into the parish life, taking into consideration the individual characteristics of each parish community.

It should also be reminded that in March this year, the first phase of training workshops for clergy was taking place. The main theme of those seminars was the direction "The Word of God and Catechesis (Kerygma)".
