Recently the Kyiv Greek-Catholic Spiritual seminary presented a new edition of its catalogue, New Center of Theology in Kyiv. It contains information about the creation and the history of the development of this spiritual institution of the Uniate Church in Central Ukraine, founded by Metropolitan Lev Sheptytsky in 1790 in the city of Radomyshl (Zhytomyr oblast), the current state and development of KTSS and issues and challenges faced by the institution. According to the Seminary Press Center, the catalogue describes the plans and perspectives of the seminary, and its pastoral-missionary and pedagogical programs.

UGCC Head, His Beatitude Sviatoslav (Shevchuk) said, “The Kyiv Greek-Catholic Spiritual seminary has become a particular symbol of our Kyiv Archeparchy and even our whole Church beyond the borders of Halychyna.   This seminary is the seed of the Heavenly Kingdom.  It is still pretty young as compared to other Greek-Catholic seminaries of Ukraine; it is only in its third year of existence.  The goal of this seminary is to educate and to forge the shaping of fervent future pastors for the areas of the Kyiv Archeparchy, Donetsk-Kharkiv, Odesa-Krym and Lutsk exarchates.”

Right now there are 23 students enrolled in the three courses of the seminary, who come from north-central, southeastern and western Ukraine.  Most of them have already complete higher educational institutions and two of them have PhD.

For all those who wish to make a donation for the development of our Church (since a well-trained priest – is its future!)  the booklet lists appropriate bank accounts for transmitting money towards the development of the seminary.
