According to the decision of the Synod of Bishops of the UGCC, on the occasion of the feast of the Apostle Andrew the First-Called, the UGCC established a Day of All-Church Prayer for the intentions of the Father and Head of the UGCC and special situations in our Church. On this day, a church-wide fundraiser is held for the Andriyiv Hrish (Andrew's Pence) Foundation, which implements pastoral and social initiatives by the Primate of the UGCC.

His Beatitude Sviatoslav has provided various assistance to victims of hostilities in the East of the country - both through people directly involved in the social sphere (military and hospital chaplains, social workers) and personally. He is constantly approached by people who need maternal support from the Church. This year, the coronavirus pandemic with all its difficulties and floods in Western Ukraine has been a major challenge for many people.

"The task of the Head of the Church is to support those who need help the most, including financial assistance. Such a resource from which the Head of the Church can draw funds to serve the needy is the Andriyiv Hrish Foundation. By making donations to this fund, you do not personally help the Head of the Church, but hand over to him the tools of rapid service, response, and emergency care for those who are most in need," said the Primate in a video on this topic.

By pooling our donations, we can respond quickly and effectively to calls for help. This fundraiser is a manifestation of our ecclesial unity, as it is held both in Ukraine and abroad.

We call on all the faithful of our Church and people of good will to join this initiative and help the most needy, contributing to the charitable treasury of our Mother Church under the leadership of the Father and the Head of the UGCC.
