Our prayers today extend to His Holiness Pope Francis, the Peter of our days, who is the rock we hear about today in the Gospel. This is what Father and Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, His Beatitude Sviatoslav, said at the end of the Divine Liturgy in the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ in Kyiv.

“Today, when we so need landmarks in life, we feel the special grace of our full and visible unity with Peter of our times - His Holiness Pope Francis, who is the servant of certainty and unity, the guarantee that even the gates of hell shall not prevail against the Church of Christ - you and me, when we are based on the foundation of the apostles," the Head of the UGCC emphasized.

"May the Lord God bless him, give him the power of Peter's faith and the grace of the Holy Spirit," the Head of the UGCC wished.
