Together with the Holy Father, UGCC churches will pray the Hour of Adoration of the Eucharist

On the occasion of the Year of Faith on June 2, 2013, in all churches of UGCC Kyiv-Halych Major Archbishopric there will be an Hour of Prayer with Vespers, uniting all to the prayer of the Holy Father and praying for the Holy Father. (begining at 6 PM). Such a resolution was passed by the Synodal Fathers at the  Sixtieth Session of UGCC Kyiv-Halych Archbishopric Synod of Bishops, held on May 15-16, 2013 in the Marian Spiritual Center of Zarvanytsia.

Please note that the calendar of basic events marking the Year of Faith, approved by Benedict XVI, includes Sunday June 2, 2003.  On that day at 5 PM according to Rome time, the Holy Father will lead an Hour of Adoration of the Eucharist in the Basilica of Saint Peter in the Vatican.  All the bishops and their local eparchial communities throughout the world will concelebrate at the same time.

The Holy Father has asked that all bishops unite with him, celebrating in their churches,  the Hour of Adoration of the Eucharist, synchronized time-wise with the Basilica in the Vatican.  This event, in his opinion, will provide many faithful to join with the opportunity to  join their local bishops and the successor of Peter in the Prayer of Adoration of the living Jesus in the Holy Sacraments on the altar.
