The UGCC will hold seminars in pastoral care of migrants, Bishop Josyf (Milyan), head of Pastoral Missionary Department of the UGCC (PMD), reported to a SoborNews correspondent. According to the bishop, the PMD decided to hold seminars in the summer for priests already working with migrants and for seminarians who plan to become migrant pastors. "The seminar for those who toil in the field of pastoral care of migrants will be held in Kyiv’s Three Saints Seminary. We plan to attract teachers of missionary theology and secular experts in Ukrainian migration policy and European law," said the bishop. The PMD will systematically work with the seminarians who want to minister migrants. "The seminars we will deepen the future pastors’ knowledge of missiology. We will invite missionaries from Europe who will share methods of missionary ministry from their personal experiences," said the head of department. The bishop also added that the creation of eparchial migrant centers will contribute to more effective work with migrants. "Currently we are waiting for copies of the decrees about appointing heads of pastoral missionary departments at individual eparchies in accordance with the decisions of the Synod of Bishops. Once these decrees have become public, we will begin searching for candidates for missionary service, establish closer contacts with eparchial priests working in the missionary field, and build more effective cooperation with seminaries," said the bishop.
