“On the request of our physicians and representatives of government authorities, I would like to appeal to you with a request today. Now, when we witness how a new wave of a disease is washing over Ukraine, we are kindly asking those people, who are over 65 to stay at home as long as it is possible”, called Father and Head of the UGCC His Betitude Sviatoslav.

Head of the Church mentioned that according to physicians if free movement of older people decreases to at least 5 percent, the amount of deaths caused by coronavirus will decrease to 75 percent in turn.

“I am addressing you, young people, neighbors and volunteers with regard to take care of people of advanced age. If you are leaving to do groceries, ask them whether they need anything. Let us help those from the weakest group to stay safe. Then, due to our Christian and civil responsibility, we will manage to defeat this invisible enemy”, assures Father and Head of the UGCC.

“I wish everyone to remain in strong health, feeling a powerful left hand of God which is spread to all of us”, added Head of the UGCC at the end.
